Changes to Rabbits program. Your points run out 31 August

Hey all,

There are some big changes to the Mad Lab Rabbits program coming. Read about them at:
http://wunderland.com/WhatsOld/2007/WN.06.28.07.html

The main thing; Rabbit points run out at the end of August:
http://rabbits.continuation.org/wiki/Please_update_your_Rabbit_Account!
(Though you should wait until after Origins so you can get some promo cards with your order:
http://www.looneylabs.com/PrizeSupport.html )

Instead Looney Labs have got a "RabbitWiki"
http://rabbits.continuation.org/wiki/Main_Page

Which they're hoping Rabbits will contribute to. I'm going to be pushing my Looney Labs Fans network stuff onto there soon.

At the very least I recommend subscribing to the RSS feed from the recent changes page:
http://rabbits.continuation.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges
http://rabbits.continuation.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&feed=atom

Schwartz and I stuck our head in this shop last night, and it was lovely. They carry Looney Labs stuff (Schwartz got an Icehouse set), as well as cheapass games, all the way to the usual board games and dice, computers to play online games, etc. We vowed to praise them here.

Schwartz was also nice enough to buy me my old favorite RPG when I saw it there - Nuclear War.

On University, on that lil' block between Shattuck and Oxford:

New Fluxx promo Keeper: The Computer

http://www.looneylabs.com/OurGames/freecomputercard.html

And what does it do? Well, for one thing it's an Appliance, which means it can be substituted for either the Television or the Toaster to win with the Appliances Goal. But the thing that makes it way cool is the extra functionality you get when you have a Computer. If you have the Computer on the table, you get to add 1 to your Draw, Play, Hand Limit, and Keeper Limit numbers.

Only available by sending $25 or more at the Looney Labs webstore. I strongly recommend three Treehouse sets and Martian Coasters.

Fluxx differences?

So, I now they dumbed down Stoner Fluxx for stoners (i.e. there's no "x=x+1" card, as math is HARD...lol).

They've released a 3.1 version of the Standard Fluxx, I think. What are its differences from the 2.8 version I think we had(yes...HAD...it apparently commited hari kari out of my bag one night, which I didn't know until I saw the cards all over the road a few days later.. *sniff*)

There is also EcoFluxx, which is what Im most curious about. When comparing it to the 3.1 Fluxx, it had 2 more ways to win, which seems like a somewhat interesting difference. Anyone have any idea what the new ways are, or other differences?

I still have Stoner, but am tryin to decide what to buy to replace my suicidal deck!!

Thanks, looneys!!

Well, I recently discovered Fluxx quite by accident on a trip to the Brewers Festival in Portland last week. Great game. Ordered three packages of blanks today.

So, what's the scoop with Looney Labs? Their web site is clearly a few years out of date as far as updates. Are they still in business? Are they still updating anything anywhere?

I've just been trying to figure it out, as I haven't played it yet...

One question: Is there any point in discovering/traveling to Red systems? It would make sense as a defensive position, except Yellow technology can just send ships "around" your fleet by discovering a system of the same size. Does that make any sense or am I missing something?

Also, has anyone thought of powers for other non-standard colored stashes?
